Enhance your practice with the Rope Wall

Weekly classes – Fridays at 4:00 – Begins Sept. 9

First introduced by BKS Iyengar, the rope wall is an invaluable tool to the yoga student.  The ropes work by using gravity as a natural form of resistance causing the body to open much further than in regular yoga practice.  Utilizing the rope wall will also develop strength and stability, while encouraging safe expansion of the yoga postures.

In this class we will use the rope wall to help build greater body awareness and gain understanding of our unique postural patterns.  Students will experience the correct alignment on the wall, which can translate to the floor in order to improve their daily yoga practice.

Benefits of the rope wall

  • Brings the body into alignment in a gentle, supportive way
  • Allows you to stay longer in a pose in order to examine actions in more detail
  • Releases tension from the joints and deeply stretches the entire muscular-skeletal body.
  • A great tool when working with injuries.  Ropes provide the support needed to access poses safely
  • Beneficial for spine health through use of traction to relieve pressure from vertebral discs, thereby soothing compressed nerves

Classes are limited to 4 participants – pre-registration required.  For students with a regular yoga practice – this class is not suitable for beginners.
