Community classes at Dutchess BOCES located at 5 Boces Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY. These 6-Week series of classes allows you to develop a consistent practice. Each week builds on the last to allow for a thorough progression of learning.
This is a beginner level class that focuses on foundational work. Classes will consist of standing poses, that include lateral, forward bends and twisting poses to build strength, balance and improved flexibility. Clear, detailed instruction with focus on proper form and function will help you build a safe, fun and nurturing practice. You will be taught modifications for injuries so you understand how the poses work best for you according to your needs. Your own yoga mat required. Bring yoga blocks, strap and blankets if available.
All Levels – 6:30pm
This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate students. It includes basic actions for standing poses, forward and back bending poses, along with seated and abdominal poses. Modifications will be given as necessary for those new to yoga, injuries, or certain medical conditions. Your own yoga mat required. Bring yoga blocks, strap and blankets if available.
About the Instructor
Cristina Roy is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and has been practicing yoga since 2005. She has had a lifelong passion for helping people and loves sharing the tremendous benefits she herself received from yoga with others. Nothing makes her happier than hearing from her students the improvements they’ve experienced since starting their own yoga journey. She lives in Chelsea of the Town of Wappinger, NY with her husband where she operates a small yoga studio.
