A Therapeutic Approach

Using a therapeutic approach, Back2Health Yoga offers effective remedies to help bring relief to many common back and neck issues.  Along with common back problems we are also specialized in Scoliosis.  In all cases, we apply yogic practices developed for back care to alleviate pain and limitations.

According to studies conducted by the National Institute of Health (NIH), yoga is an effective and safe intervention for chronic low back pain.  NIH studies also find that doing yoga regularly has been found to reverse bone loss due to osteoporosis. The popularity of this ancient practice is growing.  Yoga therapy is now recognized worldwide as a clinically viable treatment.  And as more and more physicians see that yoga therapy helps their patients, it is increasingly becoming a component of medical care.

At Back2Health Yoga we address these common issues:

  • Scoliosis
  • Herniations
  • Hyper kyphosis/lordosis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Chronic low back pain
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • General poor posture

Personalized Attention

At Back2Health Yoga we start with an evaluation of your medical history and physical conditions. This provides a foundation to understand the course of action most beneficial for you.  For example, if you need to develop strength, you may learn poses that enhance muscular strength and stability. If your ailments are due to tightness and imbalances, we’ll focus on practices that help develop greater flexibility and range of motion.  If you have physical or emotional stress, we will integrate restorative techniques that enable physical and mental relaxation.  When you learn to calm your mind and relax your body, there is an almost immediate response from the nervous system and that promotes the body’s own healing and repair.  As our approach is holistic your care will incorporate a variety of yoga practices and techniques.
